That is the problem with these third party upgrades like you purchased.
Therefore, you can not factory upgrade to SYNC 3.4. Your car did not come from the factory with SYNC 3.4 (not even SYNC 3.0). So.the reason you can not upgrade from SYNC 3.0 to SYNC 3.4 is simple. The reseller also reprogrammed my SYNC 3.0 unit with my VIN. Hey bbf2530, I swapped out my original SYNC 2.x hardware with SYNC 3.0 hardware and software as stated in my OP. It will receive updates to its basic functionality (at least for a time), but will not be factory up-gradable to SYNC 3.4. SYNC 3.0 is legacy software and hardware. Just as SYNC 3.4 will not be up-gradable to SYNC 4 in the future. Yes, as we previously mentioned, SYNC 3.0 can not be factory upgraded (via the Lincoln SYNC Update website) to SYNC 3.4.
